London Photojournalism

As I continue to recap my trip to Europe on this blog, I will use this three part format for each country. Week 1...overview, Week 2...specific story and Week 3...pictures worth way more than a thousand words.

So let's get into it, my best pics from London. London is the only city in the UK we visited and I have been assured by many that the rest of the 'dom as I have decided to call it (pronounced dumb) is much better. Don't tell my mother but, we shall see.

First up we have the very first picture I took on British soil. To some this may be just a bathroom sign, but to me it was a beacon of hope. Was this the silhouette of a woman in England? Was I about to be desirable?

Next we have this warning posted in the London Underground, please note the theme of signage here. This sign reads "This stairway has 175 steps. Do not use except in an emergency." It's a message I didn't need but I still appreciated. I'm not the type to shoot for the stairs, and I respect that about myself. What I loved about this sign was that it calls out people like this chick here. I don't like rule breakers. Or sign ignorers.

Right by our hotel we found one of Emily's favorite restaurants. Who knew?

Don't worry, she kept this commitment to American fast food throughout our travels. I think we only actually ate it once, McDonald's in France. It was tres expensive and no one appreciated my Sex and the City reference.

And thus began our first of many photoshoots across the pond. For every backdrop, there are at least 2 pictures of me fixing my hair.

Don't believe me?

Just watch.

In this photo I was throwing up the W, representing Western Hemisphere for life. Please watch this TikTok to (sort of) understand.

Finally, here I am feeling my America's Next Top Model Season 18: British Invasion fantasy. It's giving Rimmel. It's reminding me why I always get "they all know me, I'm Sophie, I'm the one they talk about mostly," stuck in my head. It's haireography. It's everything.

And yes that is a dickey. It's Jeff by Jeff Bezos and was purchased specifically and solely for London. It got 86'd at our hotel in Switzerland due to baggage restrictions that we didn't realize we could ignore until we arrived in Amsterdam. More on that later.
